Thank you for choosing to ADOPT a rescued dog, they truly are the best breed! Our mission is to place homeless and abandoned dogs into suitable, permanent, and loving homes. As a non-profit rescue, we do our best to provide healthy, well-socialized and nurtured pets. We evaluate with temperament testing and every dog receives a medical exam by one of our partner rescue vets to determine overall health and needs for vetting and care. We also quarantine dogs to ensure that they are healthy prior to placement in a foster or permanent home. Before placement, every dog is spayed/neutered, up-to-date with age appropriate vaccinations, de-wormed and given a health exam by a veterinarian.
The first step in the adoption process is completing the online application. Once we receive your application, we will begin reviewing and verifying your information. A home visit will be conducted as part of the review. If a 'meet and greet' is needed it will be scheduled during the application review process. We work diligently to find the best homes for our dogs. The process can take anywhere from a few days to weeks – depending on several factors. Puppy adoptions can take longer depending on age, we don't like to let puppies leave the rescue until they are a least 10 weeks old and fully vaccinated.
The adoption application alone DOES NOT secure your selection of a pet. We often receive multiple applicants on a specific dog, especially puppies. Payment of a deposit fee of $200 will secure the animal in your name while your application is being processed. No other applicant will be considered once a deposit is received for a particular dog. This fee is refundable if you are not approved or if upon meeting the pet it is not a proper fit for your family. If you change your mind before meeting your chosen pet, the money will be held as a donation for our efforts. You may pay the deposit fee by hitting the Donate button below. This will take you to a secure site for PayPal where you can choose your preferred method of payment. In most cases the option will not pop up to list your pet choice, but we will acknowledge your deposit and pet choice by email.
Donations help RDRNE to help other dogs in need. The adoption donation includes vet examination, spay/neuter, age appropriate vaccines, a lifetime registered microchip, and helps offset the cost of transporting the dogs into our location in Thompson PA from locations in the south.
Adopting a dog is a big responsibility. Please think long and hard about the time and expense of pet ownership and be certain the whole family is onboard.
